Round 11 Results

Round 11 marked the last home game of the year for the Sunshine Coast Spartans Gridiron club. The long day featured ups and downs for both team with some hard fought games being played out.

The first game of the day pitted the Sunshine Coast Spartans junior team against the Daisy Hill Wildcats. Coming into this game, the Spartans were tipped to be favourites against the Wildcats and they did not disappoint. Although it was an unexpected low scoring affair the Spartans sent the Wildcats packing in a 14-0 win to the home team.

The second game of the day was a battle of the two junior premiership teams from last year. The results were much the same with the Gold Coast Stingrays defeating the North side Rhinos 38-0.

The third game of the day kicked off the senior proceedings as the Bruin took on the Wildcats. The bruins took the championship points with a 38-28 victory against the cats`.

The fourth and final game had the home team Spartans hosting the North Side Rhinos. The Spartans team were in it until the two minute warning in the fourth quarter. The Rhinos quarterback hit a deep touchdown pass to ruin the secondary’s almost perfect day, only letting a few minor catches for small gains. The Rhino’s took the points but the Spartans held their heads high after putting up a solid defensive effort in the 7-0 loss.
